Young Brass Soloist Competition
The Houston Brass Band is pleased to announce its 10th Annual Young Brass Soloist competition for brass-playing students residing in the greater Houston area.
The competition will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Lanier Middle School 2600 Woodhead, Houston, Texas.
Guidelines & Eligibility
Eligibility
The competition is open to brass-playing students in the seventh through twelfth grades. Brass instruments include trumpet, cornet, flügelhorn, Eb or F horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone, bass trombone, Eb/Bb Bass, and tuba.
Divisions
There will be first, second, and third-place prizes in each division.

Entry Fee
Junior Division - $25.00
Senior Division - $45.00
Scholarships for entry fees may be available depending on circumstances. Contact the contest coordinator for more information.
Location
The competition will be held at Lanier Middle School, 2600 Woodhead Street, Houston, TX.

Repertoire
One piece of music per entry, no longer than seven minutes for the Junior Division or ten minutes for the Senior Division.
