As a general rule of thumb, the Houston Brass Band does not charge an entry fee for its concerts. Instead, we rely on the generosity of our audience in the form of concert donations, foundation and nonprofit grants, corporate matching, advertising revenue, and sponsorships.
Every donation, regardless of size, helps us realize our mission to perform concerts of high musical and artistic quality in a wide range of venues and provide educational outreach programs to the young brass musicians in the greater Houston area.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, there are many ways to support the Houston Brass Band. Plus, all personal donations are tax-deductible. You can support the Houston Brass Band in several ways, and if you would like more information on charitable giving to the Band, please email info@houstonbrassband.org.
Whether you give a one-time donation or recurring donation, your personal giving provides a steady source of income for the Houston Brass Band and allows us to fund our concert series and educational programs.
Setting up a monthly, quarterly, or annual gift is an easy and convenient way to make a difference all year long. Don’t forget, all personal donations are tax-deductible too!
Many companies have matching gift programs. Employers will often match any monetary gift or voluntary service an employee donates to a charity. Check with your company to see if it has a matching program.
Become a title sponsor for one of our showcase concerts or educational events, such as the Young Brass Soloist competition or our annual BOB Camp. These are of tremendous benefit to the young musicians who take part, and your involvement will help us to do even more. We welcome the opportunity to sit down with you to discuss potential sponsorship possibilities.
In 2015, grants from foundations and nonprofit organizations account for roughly 39% of Houston Brass Band’s operating budget. This represents a substantial – and critical – source of funding for our organization. Foundations have the opportunity to support our educational outreach programs or provide general operating assistance.

However you choose to support the Houston Brass Band, your generosity will result in concerts of the highest quality and unmatched musical experiences for the youngsters who attend BOB Camps and participate in the Young Brass Soloist Competition.
We appreciate whatever you can do in support of the Band. Our educational programs are invaluable to the many young brass-playing musicians in the greater Houston area; our concerts are a heck of a lot of fun too!
